Rehabilitation centers will now have scheduled HIV testing and counseling.
The city is receiving nearly $1 million in federal grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration. The funding will be for both community mental health and substance abuse centers to add scheduled HIV testing and counseling according to officials.

The funding was announced on Sunday by the Chicago Department of Public Health. It will follow $500,000 in city funding for community mental health centers to increase psychiatric services.

To combine both HIV testing and treatment is a crucial way to better overall foundation. This is a step toward bettering and expanding mental health services in Chicago to supply more care for patients in all neighborhoods.
