Rally to protest youth murders in streets of Chicago

Catholic Online (www.catholic.org)

Intolerance of any race is unacceptable.
On Sunday, both church and community members protested against the murders of youth in Chicago and the shooting of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - Although upset about the death of Martin, organizers of the march note that too many teens are being killed on the streets of Chicago.

Members of the Greater St. John Bible Church and the community spread the message that racism and violence will not be tolerated.

State Rep. Greg Harris will participate in the march and said that intolerance of any race is unacceptable.

"The march is to just remind their families, you're not alone and to remind everyone else, we've got to stop the violence," Harris said.

28-year-old George Zimmerman, the gunman who shot Martin, has yet to be charged and claimed that he acted in self-defense.
