The Chicago Transit Authority moves tens of thousands of people daily, all without incident.
A Chicago Transit Authority subway derailed this morning, without injuries. The train derailed near Granville station because of a switching error.

CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - No injuries were reported although one person went to the hospital after being shaken by the incident. The train was carrying about 100 passengers.

The CTA said they are not classifying the event as a derailment because it was caused by a switching error, as opposed to a train actually jumping the tracks because of defect or speed.

Normal service through the area has resumed.
