 Teachers in Evergreen Park gathered to rally one another as they go on strike. CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - This time the teachers of the Evergreen Park district are picketing. This is not a copycat strike, rather they have been in negotiations with their school board for more than five months.
The teacher's union remains at odds with the board over issues such as insurance, retirement, and a plan to link pay raises to student improvement. The district says they are still willing to meet with the teachers to reach a negotiated settlement, and they blame the teachers for the strike.
