A new riverwalk would cost $100 million but would boots commerce and improve aesthetics.
Chicago officials are proposing a six-block riverwalk to beautify the city and vitalize the economy. The plans are still conceptual, and funding has not be secured.

CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - The path would be an urban pedestrian walkway along the edge of the Chicago River, between State and Lake streets.

Officials say they have distinctive names and themes for each block.

However, without funding, the plan still remains only a concept. The plan is expected to cost some $100 million if it is approved.

It is expected to boost tourism and commerce and improve the overall aesthetics of the area.
