Locals enjoy the large, and dangerous waves brought by Hurricane Sandy in the early a.m.
Hurricane Sandy could lash out at Chicago, even though the storm has subsided and is breaking apart over land. City officials are warning that massive waves of up to 25 feet could come crashing on the shoreline.

CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - Officials are warning people to stay away from the shoreline.

Some of the winds on the lake have been clocked at 60 mph and could whip up powerful, high waves.

Several waves have already been measured by boys on the lake at around 19 feet.

There is a lakeshore flood advisory in effect for the Chicago area and the advisory is expected to remain until Wednesday afternoon.

Although all of the city's roads and business remain open, officials warned they may close any area where an immediate danger is presented by the severe weather.
